Elios Wetsuits

Still when I was competing, ages ago, I bought a tailor made Elios suit and I simply never changed. Not even my measurements of more than twenty years ago: how many, over there, can say the same thing??? :-)

In the years they have changed production, using better and better neoprene and camouflage paint and so, but I stayed with them, buying almost a suit every year (yes, I have my wardrobe full of them).

I use in the summer a 5 mm smoothskin top with 3 mm pants, both with gold coating inside. If I have to fish on hard bottom the top camo is green-brown and my pants are in exterior black lined neoprene. If I have to spearfish in the blue the camo is white/blue all over, top and pants and the pants also are in smoothskin neoprene.

If I fish in the winter, in the cold waters of the northern Adriatic Sea, where the temperature can drop to 7 – 9 C degrees, I use a 7 mm smoothskin all over, top and pants.

Mute Elios

Ancora quando facevo gare, eoni fa, ho comprato una muta su misura della Elios e semplicemente non ho mai cambiato. Nemmeno le mie misure di più di vent’anni fa: quanti, là fuori, posso dire lo stesso??? :-)

Negli anni loro hanno cambiato produzione, usando neoprene e pitture di mimetizzazione, eccetera sempre migliori, ma io sono rimasto con loro, comprando quasi una muta all’anno (sì, ho gli armadi pieni di mute)

Io uso in estate una muta da 5 mm liscia fuori con pantaloni da 3 mm, entrambi con spalmatura dorata all’interno. Se devo pescare su fondo roccioso la giacca è mimetizzata in verde-marrone e i pantaloni sono in foderato nero. Se devo pescare nel blu la mimetizzazione è bianca/blu dappertutto, giacca e pantaloni, e anche i pantaloni sono in spaccato.  

Se pesco d’inverno nelle fredde acque del nord Adriatico, dove la temperatura può precipitare a 7-9 gradi C, uso una muta in spaccato da 7 mm completa, giacca e pantaloni.
