Cabo Verde - July 17, 2005 - Sal island

Anyway, the sharks are hungry here. More than once the fish resurfaced from the blue under our fins half chomped.

And one time we had in self defence to shot a shark that arrived between our legs chasing “his” (in its mind, anyway) wahoo.

In ogni modo, gli squali hanno fame, da queste parti. Più di qualche volta il pesce è riemerso dal blu sotto le nostre pinne mezzo masticato.

E una volta abbiamo dovuto per difesa sparare ad uno squalo che era arrivato tra le nostre gambe in caccia del "suo" (nella sua testa, in ogni modo) wahoo.

Cabo Verde - July 5, 2005 - Sal island

Here I am, sadly at the last leg in my Trip. I'm in Sal, that, as the name suggests, is an island with a lot to do with salt. Ancient salt beds are common, and the landscape there is harshly burned out.

Eccomi qui, tristemente nell'ultima tappa del mio Viaggio. Sono a Sal, che, come suggerisce il nome, ha un sacco a che fare col sale.

Antiche saline sono comuni e il panorama è lì brutalmente bruciato.

The island is constantly under the inflexible whip of the Trade Winds and is almost totally covered with brown sands blown out from the Sahara and eventually landed here.

L'isola è costantemente sotto la dura sferza degli Alisei ed è quasi totalmente coperta da sabbie brune soffiate via dal Sahara e alla fine atterrate qui.

In any case, the Ocean life, lacking any industrial plant, is still rich. Even if, sadly said, already not comparable with that of only three years ago.

In ogni caso, la vita nell'Oceano, senza nessuna industria, è ancora ricca, anche se, da dire tristemente, già non più paragonabile a quella di solo tre anni fa.
