Western Australia
We
went there for three consecutive summers (that is, northern hemisphere summers
– Australian winters). It was an amazingly new kind of spearfishing: the
constant bruising with the sharks, the burley Australian-style, the new fish. All
new and all to be learned fast and well. My fishing pal and I learned a lot
there. And
then, new ways of life, new friends. In a word: marvellous!
Siamo andati lì per tre estati di seguito (cioè, estati per l’emisfero nord – in realtà inverni australiani). Ha rappresentato uno spettacolosamente nuovo tipo di pesca: il costante contatto con gli squali, la pasturazione secondo lo stile australiano, i nuovi pesci... Tutto nuovo e tutto da imparare bene e in fretta. Il mio compagno di pesca ed io abbiamo imparato un sacco laggiù. E poi, nuovi modi di vita, nuovi amici. In una parola: meraviglioso!
